PEOPLE

Slow people make the traffic jam, fast people make life zoom by, fun people make a party worth while, loving people leave an imprint on your heart, mean people slice your heart into pieces, kind people help to put a smile back on your face, ugly people have to look in the mirror every day, pretty people just love to look in the mirror, happy people sometimes aren't really happy, sad people just forgot how to be happy, intelligent people are always looking for the answers to questions, dumb people just sit back and relax, crazy people have others thinking that they are sane when it's really not the case, morbid people just understand death a little better than us, religious people think they have found God, Nasty people only get a little nastier, helpless people sometimes need help, but usually need to help themselves first, sick people need a helping hand always! Look at yourself in the mirror.......what kind of person are you? Does it really matter? People just make the world a better place!

TIME

Where has all of the time gone? I look around and see that the little ones are all growing so fast and so are their strong personalities! I remember when 30 seemed old to me, but now 40 seems young! Don't blink is right! Time is flying by faster than we know it! Be true to yourself and make life worth it! Is there something that you keep putting back on the bookshelf and it keeps collecting dust? Is there something that you really want to do? Is there someone that you really want to see? Is there someone that you really want to say goodbye to? Remember, life is flying by faster than we know it! Do what you need to do today and don't put if off until tomorrow! Tomorrow's grounds maybe too uncertain for plans and futures have a way of falling in mid-flight! Where has all of the time gone? We'll never know, but it won't slow down.................

The Shoe-less Child

Monday night is the usual religion night for little Ethan! Tonight we lost track of time, so Andre and Ethan ran out the door and hopped in the jeep so Ethan could go to class! Tonight was no special night until I was greeted in the parent pick up line by his religion teacher ! Kelly said, "tell momma what she did"? Then kelly proceeded to tell me that Ethan came to class without shoes, and he's the first kid to do that in the history of religion! I drove home breathless only because I couldn't stop laughing, then laughed harder when Ethan said he didn't know he didn't have shoes on until his feet hit the cold floor of the building! What's even more funny is that We had an Uncle Joe who would tease me and my sister for fighting over shoes, so when our first sons were born, he bought them each a pair of shoes so they would not fight. As news spread throughout Vacherie, Uncle Joe and Aunt clara would have ventured out to buy my little man a pair of shoes and would have loved to tease me about this one! Still and all, I think Jesus probably  loves my little man much more b/c he was on a mission to go to religion with or without shoes!

Family Tradition

Here in the south in our little small community of  Vacherie(where everyone knows every little thing about you and more) we have so many family traditions! The holidays are right around the corner! First comes halloween and  there is nothing better than our halloween block party! Next comes Thanksgiving and the entire family comes to my house! We deep fry turkey and everyone brings their favorite dish! Oh, lets not forget about the beer and wine  and Mrs. Clause( yes for thanksgiving)!!! Next comes Christmas time! Parties Parties Parties! We have so much to look forward to........Bonfires, gumbos, baked everything, jambalaya, my cousins christmas eve party with bonfire, Christmas day at one of our houses! Next comes New Years! For us, New years isn't dressing up and going out to big  parties, It's hanging out at a family member's house and ringing in the new year with lots of food, alcohol, and you guessed it, another bonfire! What's your family tradition? Please tell me you do have one!

The Funny Things in LIfe!

A friend just reminded me that I have been too Deep and was wondering where  the humorous Sandy is ! Well, I'm in here somewhere! Strange but true, these little weird things that I write just pop into my mind and I have to write it somewhere! On the funny side...Have you looked into the mirror lately? Well, I have looked into the mirror and I'm not seeing that savvy little chick that I used to be! I see someone with wrinkles, sagging boobs, a saggy ass, and a stomach that has held three kicking babies! My pipes are a little rusty also, but I'm not going there! I'd have to have a couple of glasses of wine or beer to talk about all of those pipes! Lets just say that I keep the toilet paper very near and dear to my heart and ass! Aleve is also a BFF of mine for all of the little aches and pains that I have encountered! Who said that women grow old gracefully? Yes, we can grow old gracefully with lots of plastic surgery, but I'm a nurse and I don't trust those crazy docs out there! So, cheers to growing old, cheers to toilet paper, cheers to aleve, and cheers to my dear friends who love me in spite of all my sags and weaknesses in life!
I worked at a cancer center for 3 years. It was there that I made friends of all ages, it was there that I said goodbye to so many important people. When I say important, I don't mean someone with lots of money, I don't mean a VP of a big company! When I say important, I mean someone with  a good heart, and a beautiful soul. So many people walked in that door for hope, a promise of a new tomorrow, and yet, others walked in that door not knowing that  they were so close to entering heavens door. Do I believe in heaven or hell? Well, I will say yes, because I don't think one can exist without the other. I would like to think my friends are in an important or better place than we are. Were they scared? Yes, they were scared as hell! They were more scared to leave us here, rather than being scared of the unknown. The ones that have passed, I will remember them always..........they have taught me so much about life! The ones that I just so happen to see every-now-and-then, their smile just lights up a room when we see one another. Right now I'd like to believe that I can make my life my heaven or hell. Right now I'm living in heaven....................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ADOPTION

Some of you may not know, but my husband Andre is adopted! He did find both of his biological parents years ago! It's strange the way life constantly has a revolving door. Andre is lucky, his life has gone completely full circle. He was given up for adoption in 1975, then 25 years later he found his mom, then 28 years later he found his dad! I still wonder what brought us all together? Was it their pre-destiny? Was it all in the cards? No matter what the reasons are we now have a very big extended family! Andre has allot more parents, he has 4 brothers, and 3 sisters, a brand new set of grandparents also! Life has given us so much in the last couple of years! There has been so much joy and only few sorrows! Thanks God, you have been good!

What Do You Want To Be When You Grow up?

Sometimes we have to wonder , what are we doing here, where are we going, what am I supposed to be doing? Do you ever wonder if there is something you should be doing more of? Do you ever wonder what is your purpose in life? I have been a nurse for 14 years and have learned allot in life, told many people goodbye, helped families say goodbye, helped some have hope, listened to secrets, and also have seen new life! I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! I've been told that I'm a good nurse, but none of that matters to me. I'm doing what I should be doing right now! I'm being a mom to my kids, and hopefully a good mom! Some of us never find that perfect job, or is there really a perfect job? Right now, my job is to be a mom, the cleaner, the cooker, the carpool chick, and the wife! Right now, I'm still growing up and wondering what I'm going to be when I grow up! WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP? ARE YOU ALL GROWN UP YET? THINK ABOUT IT!

"The Finer Things In Life"!!!!!

The air conditioner, running water, electricity, food on the table, milk in the fridge, heat in the winter, a nice warm blanket, a nice warm bath! These are some of the finer things in life, yes, I said it......"the finer things in life"! Too often we take these every day things for granted until you run across a family or a child that really doesn't get a hot meal everyday, who doesn't get to take a warm bath, who doesn't have a heater or a warm blanket in the winter. That same child doesn't know what it's like to have both a mom and a dad! That same child Doesn't know what it's like to hear the words "I love you", or get tucked in at night! We are living in the same world as that family or child! Don't forget to tell your child that you love him or her! Oh, and instead of complaining about the electric or water bill..........remember that your child has the luxury of water, air conditioner, the heater, and thank God that you have the money to pay "for the finer things in life"! God Bless!

ADDICTION

What is your addiction? Is is the sweet taste of ice cream that melts in your mouth, is it the bitter sweet of chocolate, the fizz of champagne, the after taste of a cigarette, is it a loved one, or a wanna-be-loved one? No matter what the addiction is, we all have them! We all struggle to stay away from those addictions if we think it is wrong! We all think about those addictions on a daily basis! What's your addiction ? I must say, my addiction is food! Pizza would have to be on the top of that list! There is nothing better than a thin-crust slice of pizza with extra mozzarella, provolone, feta cheese, with pepperoni, canadian bacon, pancettia, black olive, red onions, and banana peppers! Just saying all of those toppings makes me want to go out and order pizza! Don't worry about your addiction if it is not life threatening! Worry about not getting that slice of pizza!

Don't Forget To Find Yourself Again!

Time fly's while we're having fun! Before you know it, you'll look in the mirror and see that you are "all grown up"! Well, at least you think you are all grown up! We often are so involved with our fast -paced lives that we don't stop to think "who have I become, where am I going, what am I doing, where have I been?" We often loose our self with raising children, working, running a household, etc.......... Stop  for a moment, think about who you are right now at this moment!!!!!!! Do you like who you are? Do you like where you are going? Do you like who you've become? Slow down guys..........we only have life to enjoy once! Don't forget to find yourself again and have fun!

Friends

People come and go, into and out of our lives , some of them leaving a lasting impression, others we just glimpse at.  Some stay forever in our hearts, painted in our minds, and  others just seem to linger in our souls. Our friends may leave us, but true friends stay in these special places......the heart, the mind, the soul! Stay young in the mind my friends, stay free in the soul, paint your way through life! You all will always be my special friends......you know who you are!
